The statistics were announced by Director General of Kurdestan Customs Administration Bakhtiyar Rahmanipour.
Iraq is the top destination for the province’s export, with a 98% share, followed by Afghanistan, Pakistan, Russia, Romania and Armenia, IRNA reported.
Agro products amounting to 224,000 tons worth $96 million had the largest share in exports from Kurdistan during the period, going up by 126% and 181% in tonnage and value respectively year-on-year. Edible fruits worth $25 million and calves valued at $20 million came next. Rahmanipour noted that a total of 736,000 tons of commodities worth $1.5 billion were transited from Bashmaq border crossing during the period, which is up by 54% and 11% in tonnage and value YOY respectively, according to Financial Tribune.
